I never said it would be pretty. I only said it would be fun…and yes, I had a lot of fun playing with ink yesterday. I’m happy to say that I did see something emerging from the ink wash creativity exercise I did, and while it might not look like much, remember this started out as simply a blob of ink on the page.
Here’s my gorilla. I know it’s impossible to see the facial features on the scan, but he does look like a gorilla. The fact that I’d quickly “seen” the creature lurking there in the ink made the exercise a success for me.
Another just for fun ink wash was a little harder for me to figure out. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I like to think maybe it’s the jungle habitat where my hulking gorilla lives.
So, did you do an ink wash too? If you did, please leave a link in the comments below…and if you haven’t gotten around to trying the ink wash exercise, you can still do it. I’ll be happy to add links to this post at any time.
So, I ended up with an ugly black gorilla whose face can’t be seen in the scan and a jumble of rocks and trees or whatever.
I’d love to see other “Inka-Dinka-Doo’s”!
Here is “Inkplay” from teproleum. Check it out!
Zero Creativity took a different approach and is sharing some calligraphy. Lovely!
And, from Carrie, we have An Exercise with Paper, Water, and Ink. I love what she created.
All Inked Up comes from Debi Riley who takes us into the forest with her ink creations.
I never tried it but it looks like fun.

Here’s my mess… https://teproleum.wordpress.com/2016/06/28/inkplay/
It’s been a while since I did an ink wash exercise. I only did some small stuff but I had a blast! I’ll definitely do more of this whenever I’m free.

Next time, I’m going to post the ink mess I did on an 8″x10″ canvas. Same trick, but I kinda took it a step further. Thanks for cooking up this game! We should have more of these.

Oh, yes! I want to see that ink “mess” you made. And definitely we should have more “play days” like this. Several other bloggers were planning to do ink washes, so I’m hoping to have more to share soon. 🙂

The second one looks like the beach, sand dunes and sea oats, that kind of thing. Your gorilla is quite exciting and yes I do want to try this and I will…eventually 🙂
