Something Green

I’m in a green, leafy mood! I sound like a vegetable, don’t I? I happen to love vegetables, and as you already know, I also love trees. After painting yesterday’s green, leafy tree, I went all out today with a very green view and lots of leaves.

I actually like this, although I think it looked better when wet. The darker green is supposed to create depth in the forested hillsides, and I thought I’d achieved that effect. Once the watercolor dried, though, it didn’t look quite the way I had hoped it would.

All part of the learning experience.

I’m getting closer to where I want to be with my paintings of trees.  With this one, I especially like the color of the sky and the contrast it makes with the leaves.
