A Different Sort of Art

Yesterday I shared a few sorry-looking autumn scenes. I’ll keep practicing, and I will get better. Looking at my attempts to paint trees and leaves made me think back to photographs and digital art I had done in the past. Today I’d like to share two of my “fall favorites”

This is a “digital painting” created from a photograph I took. I wish I could actually paint like this.

And while the next one may look as though it was “photo edited”, it’s not. I was drawn to this tree because of this one branch of vivid color.

I’ve always enjoyed photography, and I’ve had fun playing around at “digital art”. From time to time, I’ll share a few additional favorites, and hopefully someday I’ll master the techniques of oil painting and will be able to recreate these images on my canvas.

      1. I love it when I see something that I just have to photograph. I wish I could do skies like when there is an incredibly bright rainbow and dark storm clouds. It never comes out like the sky looks though. The colors are always faded and blah.

      2. I spent one entire night trying to capture shots of lightning… never did get one that I really liked. I’m always cloud chasing and taking pictures. Clouds. And trees. Can’t get away from the. And then, there are the geese. I’m always trying to get pictures of geese. They’re not usually too cooperative 😦

      3. Oh, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I mean, really, really. Seeing a roadrunner has been a dream of mine ever since I was a kid and watched the old roadrunner cartoons. Seriously, you don’t know how much this means to me. 🙂
