Just a quick little post to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. It is, of course, an American holiday that isn’t celebrated in other countries, although I’d like to think we can be thankful for our blessings every day of the year, no matter where we are.
My little Thanksgiving turkey is a bit of a mess. I drew it in pencil, and then — as usual — it wouldn’t scan. So, I grabbed an ink pen and tried to go over my lines. I didn’t do a very good job with it, though. So, here’s my beleaguered-looking turkey wishing you a happy day!
Happy thanksgiving!

Thank you. The turkey is stuffed and in the oven, we baked two pumpkin pies yesterday, and later today we’ll be traveling to visit my sister who, sadly, is spending the holiday in the hospital.

Thanks! I guess maybe it adds to the “ruffled feathers” appearance LOL.

Almost every culture has some sort of harvest festival that involves giving thanks to God. I remember one year my parents talked about Thanksgivings of their childhoods, and I said, “You didn’t have Thanksgiving. You grew up in Germany.” https://www.thoughtco.com/erntedankfest-thanksgiving-in-germany-1443975

I like your turkey. Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving Day with your sister yesterday. Canada π¨π¦ has a Thanksgiving, only we celebrate it at a different time than you guys do.

Yes, we had a nice day. It’s about a 90-minute drive to the hospital. My sister is doing better, and she was very glad to have company for the holiday. All in all, we have much to be thankful for.
