We’re getting near the end of this Art Quiz feature. How have you been doing? Only three questions remaining in the quiz.
Here’s today’s question:
In which year did the German art organization Die Brucke begin?
- 1644
- 1895
- 1974
- 1905
Needless to say, I’d never heard of this art organization before, so I just took a wild guess. How about you? Do you know the answer?
Check back at noon (CDT) for the correct response and a bit of information about Die Brucke.
Has to be in the 1900s. So I think π€ 1905

I think Einstein made a great discovery that year, but I will wait to noon….:) Spent a few months long ago in Vienna, even if it wasn’t an Austrian movement, it did had some influence, at the time I was discovering Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, Klimt in his late period probably marked my painting subjects…:)

Klimt and Schiele are among my favorite artists. I’m especially fond of Klimt for his love of cats. π

I had cats for some years, lost my last one to cancer a few months ago, for now I will not have another one, but love them.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your cat. They are magnificent creatures. We adore our “Flower Child.” Today, in fact, we’re celebrating her “cataversary” — it was a year ago on June 2 that we rescued her and brought her home from the shelter.

π¦ I understand exactly how you feel. My old cat, Ulysses, died almost 30 years ago. I still miss him every day.

Not enough Judith. As a working artist I need to know Art History pretty well, as well as what is going on in the art world currently. All the best.
